Transportation
Therapy shouldn’t depend on the drive
Game Changer runs its own fleet of vehicles, with 10 transportation drivers across all five clinics, offering pick-up and drop-off for our clients in Bay City, Saginaw and Midland.
Transportation is an extension of your child’s services, offered at every clinic based on availability. Ask about it when you start and we will build it into the schedule.

Why it matters
For many families, the hard part isn’t therapy. It’s the travel.
Therapy works when it is consistent, and consistency means trips — week after week, to the same building, at the same time. Across the Great Lakes Bay Region, that travel is one of the biggest barriers standing between a child and the services they have already been approved for. A ride that falls through becomes a missed session, and missed sessions slow progress.
So we do not leave it to chance. Game Changer treats transportation as an important extension of our services rather than a favor we do on the side: our own vehicles, our own trained drivers, and pick-up and drop-off for clients at every one of our clinics.

How it works
Three steps, handled during onboarding
Transportation is easiest to arrange while your child’s schedule is still being built, because the ride and the therapy times get planned together.
-
Ask about transportation when you start
Tell your onboarding specialist that travel is a problem for your family. Say it early, before times are locked in — it is a normal question and it changes how we build the schedule.
-
We coordinate a schedule that works both ways
The goal is a therapy start and end time that works for your family and for transportation at the same time, so the same routine holds week to week instead of moving around.
-
Trained staff pick up and drop off
One of our transportation drivers handles the trip to the clinic and the trip home, so getting to therapy becomes a known, predictable part of your child’s day.
Therapy itself begins with a physician referral. If you have not started yet, print our prescription form (PDF) and take it to your child’s doctor — that is the one piece of paper that unlocks everything else, transportation included. Families using Medicaid go through their county Community Mental Health, and we will walk you through it.
Safety
Safety is the primary concern on every trip
The people driving your child are Game Changer staff, held to the same standard as everyone else on your child’s team.
-
Every member of our transportation staff holds an impeccable driving record
-
Drivers complete extensive training every year, not only when they are hired
-
Safety comes ahead of convenience — it is our first concern, not a box we tick
-
Transportation runs in our own vehicles, staffed by people your clinic knows
Have a question about how a ride would work for your child? Call (989) 860-0846 and ask for your clinic — we would rather answer it before the first trip than after.

Straight answer
Transportation is based on availability
We would rather tell you that up front than have you find out later. Transportation at all of our clinics is offered based on availability, and availability moves with the schedule — what is open in Midland this month may look different in Bay City next month.
Our goal is always a therapy start and end time that works for your family and for transportation together. Where availability is limited, we can offer alternate start and end times to accommodate. In practice that usually means a different time slot rather than no ride at all — but the only way to know what is open for your child is to ask.

Answers
Transportation questions parents ask us
Is there a cost for transportation?
We are not going to put a number on this page, because what applies to your family depends on your child’s services and coverage — and a guess is worse than no answer. Ask about transportation when you start services, or call (989) 860-0846, and our team will tell you exactly how it works for your situation.
Which Game Changer clinics offer transportation?
All five — Bay City, Saginaw on Davenport Ave, Midland, Saginaw on Shattuck Rd and Saginaw on Weiss. Transportation at every clinic is based on availability, and because availability moves with the schedule, your clinic is the right place to ask what is currently open.
How do we request transportation?
Bring it up when you start services. Tell your onboarding specialist that you need transportation while your child’s schedule is still being built, and it gets factored into the therapy start and end times from the beginning. You can also call (989) 860-0846 at any point and ask, or get started online.
What if transportation isn’t available at the time we want?
Where availability is limited, we can offer alternate therapy start and end times to accommodate. The aim is a schedule that works for your family and for transportation at the same time, so limited availability usually means a different time slot rather than no ride at all. Tell us what your week actually looks like and we will work from there.
