The short answers below reflect how services generally work in our region. When in doubt, call us — we will walk you through your specific situation.
Getting started usually begins with a physician referral or prescription. Tell us a little about your child through Get Started or call (989) 860-0846, and an onboarding specialist will walk you through the referral, verify your insurance, and match your child with a therapist at your preferred clinic.
For many services a physician referral is needed, and Medicaid autism services route through your county community mental health office. ABA generally follows an autism diagnosis, but occupational therapy and speech therapy can often begin sooner while you wait on an evaluation. We help you sort out exactly what your situation needs.
We work with Michigan Medicaid (through your county Community Mental Health office) and most major commercial plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. We also contract with Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health, Saginaw County Community Mental Health, and Community Mental Health for Central Michigan. We verify your benefits for free before services begin — see our insurance page for the full walkthrough.
Game Changer provides outpatient pediatric therapy for children, teens and young adults. Services and appropriate ages vary by therapy and by each child's needs, so reach out and we will help you understand what fits.

We have five clinics across the Great Lakes Bay Region: Bay City (our flagship at 3727 Wilder Rd), Midland (1500 Commerce Dr), and three in Saginaw — Davenport Ave (3210 Davenport Ave), Shattuck Rd and Weiss. And yes — we run our own fleet of vehicles with 10 transportation drivers, offering pick-up and drop-off at all five clinics. Transportation at every clinic is based on availability, and where availability is limited we can offer alternate therapy start and end times to accommodate. See how transportation works, or call (989) 860-0846 to ask about your situation.
Call (989) 860-0846 or use the Get Started form and a real person from our team will reach out to guide you through referrals, insurance and next steps. You can also reach us through our contact page. Most services begin with a referral, so we do not book appointments online — we help you take the right first step.
