What we do
How ABA therapy works at Game Changer
ABA is a therapy grounded in the science of learning and behavior. Our goal is simple: build the helpful skills your child actually uses outside of therapy, and reduce the behaviors that get in the way of learning.
An individualized, play-based program
Your child receives a program built around their own interests, so they genuinely look forward to coming. We weave natural environment teaching (NET) — learning built into play and real routines — into regular programming, not just at break time. We pair it with discrete trial training (DTT), short and structured teaching moments, so new skills are practiced clearly and then used in real life. As your child grows, the plan grows with them.

In the clinic, at home and in the community
Progress in our clinics is great, but progress at home and in the community is a real game changer. From our clinics in Bay City, Saginaw and Midland, our teams bring programming into the everyday places your family already goes, so skills carry over where you want to see them most. Every program is written and overseen by experienced supervisors, including licensed BCBAs (board certified behavior analysts), QBHPs and BCaBAs, working as one team around your child.

Answers
ABA therapy questions parents ask us
Does Medicaid or insurance cover ABA therapy in Michigan?
In most cases, yes. We work with Michigan Medicaid (through your county Community Mental Health) and most major commercial plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. We also contract with Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health, Saginaw County Community Mental Health, and Community Mental Health for Central Michigan. We verify your benefits for you before you start — see our insurance page or call us.
Do we need an autism diagnosis to begin?
ABA services generally follow an autism diagnosis and a physician referral. If you are still waiting on an evaluation, you do not have to sit still — occupational therapy and speech therapy can often begin sooner. Reach out and we will help you understand your options.
What does a day of ABA look like?
Play, and lots of it. Sessions are hands-on and built around your child’s interests, blending natural environment teaching with structured teaching. Your child’s team celebrates small wins, tracks progress, and shares strategies you can use at home so the whole family reinforces the same goals.
How do we get started?
Getting started begins with a physician referral, or prescription. Tell us a little about your child through Get Started or call (989) 860-0846, and an onboarding specialist will walk you through the referral, verify insurance, and match your child with a therapist at your preferred clinic.
Working with Game Changer has been an amazing experience. I have watched my son step out and try a large variety of new things on his own. When he finds something he likes, he is so proud. He has progressed a very long way and I am so glad I have been able to watch his growth.
